Racing has arrived

Brad and I are headed down the 10 towards Houston Texas. We are in Mississippi, and we are making a pit stop in Baton Rouge Louisiana to see my friend Stacey Laird. I havent seen Stacey since the Indy race where Steve crashed. I saw Harold in Dallas in October but Stacey didnt make it that weekend, and I have not seen their daughter Maddie since Indy and she was about to turn 1 and now shes turned 2. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends in the racing community. I am so excited to see all my ADRL friends this weekend, I saw all my NHRA friends last weekend.

This morning we checked out of our hotel in Mobile Alabama, and started riding down the road I flopped my mirror down to put some make up on and there was a big old hairy spider building a nest on my mirror. well for those of you who don't know my boyfriend hates spiders more than any thing in the world. So I said spider and he pulled over on the shoulder to kill the spider well it turned into a ordeal and he wouldn't get back in the car until the spider died. So Brad gets out the Ice scraper and hits the spider knocking it down and into my purse. That wasn't gonna work for me so we had to dump the contents of my purse out until we found the spider.

Now remember this is all happening on the shoulder of the freeway with semi trucks flying by us at 75 MPH I thought for sure we were gonna get blasted. but thank you God we were ok the spider was in my purse and he got it with the ice scraper. This was our adventure for the day. We are rolling down the freeway I will post updates all weekend. Happy racing!!!

random thoughts and other stuff

I cannot tell you how depressed I am during the winter, I find it hard to get excited about anything. I hate cold weather, my ankle has been killing me when its cold. I miss my friends, people that dont love racing do not understand the draw of going to the track, but since I moved to SC 5years and 3 months ago drag racing has been the thing that Brad and I do on weekends. So when you go 3 months without it....It sucks.

Lots of changes this year and Im interested to see how its all gonna shake out. Jason Scruggs went3.64 @210 testing. Now I am friends with many teams in ADRL, but let me say that the Scruggs crew are absolutely my favorite guys to hang out with. These guys are humble, and even though they have been the guys to beat, they dont act it, and you just gotta admire that. They are just a really good group of guys. and I am tickled to see Jason able to still set the world on fire.

In the NHRA series the field has been set, and its a tough field of some good racers, but NHRA set a system of grade points and then did not stick to it. Guys that had no points were allowed to register before their time. While guys who wanted to get in and had points didnt get to register. I am really disappointed in the way this happened, Im not begrudging anyone their spot, but I think NHRA didnt exactly play fair.

As far as me well I am still following Brad, because going to the track with him is more fun for me than going to the track without him. I have this sign in my kitchen that sums up our relationship. it says "We may not have it all together, but together we have it all." I Love my Bradley, and I owe this passion for drag racing all to him. Life is good......

In a few days I will celebrate 15 years of Sobriety. Yes I am a recovering alcoholic, yes I take it seriously, I am not the person I was 15 years ago. Thank God for that!!!

no racing for awhile for me

I have made some big changes the last few weeks, giving up all my responsibilities at PMZ was a hard decision for me, but I just cant give the website my attention if I feel its going in a negative direction. While I may not agree with a lot of stuff that goes on what anyone does to make money to pay bills is not my business. condemning someone who doesn't share by beliefs and doesn't share my optimistic attitude is not something I am comfortable with. I don't mind sharing my opinions, I mind having someone tell me they are wrong. We are all entitled to our own opinion and if we were a little less judgemental of each other the world would be a better place.

The racing over in Qatar starts up again pretty soon, and Im excited about it because not only it Todd tuning over there but I found out the Billy Gibson is going over to drive and I am very excited for him. Billy will be stepping into the tuning duties at Mel bush Motorsports and Driver Tommy D'Aprile. Having Tommy and Billy together all year is awesome because they are 2 of my favorite people at the track.

I know some stuff is going to be announced soon that I am also excited about. Brad and I are planning to attend the Wyo Motorsports Tutterow Championship party on the 1st of Jan. that will be a ton of fun. Todd winning the championship was awesome. I am working on some cool stuff for some of my PR clients and will be posting more in the near future.

HOME sweet home again

Just as we were boarding in Orlando Brads phone rang and it was Jorgen Leanders, He and Ulf were flying out of Charlotte and needed someone to meet them and pick up stuff they were not taking home to sweden. so after we landed Brad hauled butt to the ticketing area where they were waiting with 2 boxes. oh its never dull when you hang with Brad.

Brad and I arrived home last night around 7 pm at he airport to a flat tire. We have a slow leak and 2 weeks ago Brad had another flat and didnt get it fixed. So yes that means no spare, we limped down to the gas station, only to find the air out of order. so limp to the next and 15 minutes later we had enough air to get us home.

We were met by 2 very excited kitty's they wanted some attention right away, It was about 10 and we were both tired so we went to sleep. this morning I need to track down the Wilson children who have our suitcase coming from Orlando. Roger went on the Palm beach so they brought it back. Once I have it I can start sorting thru my junk from PRI.

PRI on friday

Sitting in the Cafe area with Cary Goforth. Just posted the GTO that Dean drove last year on racing Junk and lowered the price if anyone wants a great car cmon this is a steal. This show is insane I saw the new Leanders 7 inch clutch and its off the hook. I have pictures to post this afternoon when I get back to the hotel.

OMG Thursday is over....

So for me Thursday at PRI has always been the day I play at the show. This one was no exception. I hung out with some of my friends and a couple of the teams I do some PR stuff for. The Goforths and Radford. Brad and I went to dinner with the guys from GRP Rods. Joe is my new best buddy. Thanks for the dinner, and then it was off to Bahama Breeze for awhile, before I ditched Brad and went over to Howl at the moon. WOWOWOWOWOW it was packed but I had so many people I knew over there. It was a ton of fun. Rebecca and Thomas Meyers, Frankie and Cindy Taylor and a little later I had the pleasure of seeing Dave Connelly I sure do hope he gets a sponsor, I love Dave and he is a really talented driver that has been bitten by the economy bug.

I saw Erica Enders, who came in with my buddy George and Jim Cunninham, and Jerry Haas. They made their way to a table inside Howl at the moon. others I saw of course Billy Gibson, and Aaron from Safety solutions, Steve Vick and his lovely girlfriend Jennifer Guenther were there. Jennifer tells me she is going to run Big Dog next year in Steves old corvete. a girl driver in Big Dog its about time. ok its now time for to get off the computer and head to the show. I will update from there and take some pictures of all the fun stuff.

PRI and the road that leads there

So every year I look forward to going to Orlando, and enjoying the company of my racing friends away from the track. PRI is all about racing and the latest and greatest Innovations. Brad and I have gone for the past 4 years. the first year we went I had no idea what anything was, I have learned a few things since then. I cannot wait to see the Ford display and all the new stuff they have going after hearing so much about it from my buddy George. I look forward to seeing the new Leanders clutch. Brad is slowly teaching me about parts. I have a pretty good understanding of engines but the Clutch and converters and transmissions are my next thing to learn about.

The other thing I am excited about is the safety side. ISP and Safety Solutions have teamed up in a booth and I hope everyone checks out the poured seat and newest safety innovations. I am really looking forward to the ADRL banquet on Saturday night, even though I have to wear a dress. Being able to see everyone all dressed up is actually fun. So once a year I dont mind the dress and getting Brad in a suit coat, well what woman does not like her man all dressed up.

We fly at 9:30 in the morning get in at 11:00 and get our rental car, then I need to track down Roger Richards who kindly transported my suitcase down for me and get my luggage then off to whatever party we can find. I dont drink, but Brad is looking forward to kicking back a few beers with his new buddy Billy Gibson and a few others, I am hoping to get some quality time in the HOT TUB!!!
